Key Responsibilities
- Ensure precise financial recordkeeping for the lending entities and produce management reports.
- Execute monthly bank reconciliations across various accounts.
- Prepare and manage 1099 and 1096 interest statements.
- Process bank deposits, primarily through desktop systems.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Collaborate with team members in collecting rents and addressing defaults on foreclosed properties.
- Regularly update and maintain the rent roll.
- Perform general office duties, including management of both physical and electronic files.
- Analyze and review credit reports.
- Establish new client and loan files.
- Communicate with clients to obtain necessary loan documentation.
- Work with attorneys and title personnel to facilitate loan processing.
- Assist in coordinating loan closings and funding.
- Record loans using QuickBooks software.
- Process and document loan and interest payments.
- Acquire property tax and utility records as needed.
- Support the preparation of construction draws and fund disbursements.
- Collaborate with construction inspectors to secure draw approvals.
- Aid in coordinating foreclosure processes with legal counsel.
- Prepare payoff letters and statements upon loan completion.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks is crucial.
- Strong mathematical skills and a foundational background in accounting are necessary.
- Familiarity with standard office equipment, including phones, faxes, copiers, and scanners.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Capacity to meet tight deadlines effectively.
- Experience in paralegal work or real estate is advantageous.
Qualifications
- A relevant degree or certification in finance or accounting is preferred, along with experience in bookkeeping or financial management within a real estate context.
